Multi-Core Cable, UK

Hi,

I'm looking for some multi-core balanced audio cable available in the UK.  I was going to get Mogami but it's not available in the UK.

So I've found this: http://quartexcable.com/acatalog/Multicore_Cables.html

I know it's a bit of an obscure question, but do any of you know of this manufacturer? Are they any good and how's the price?

Any alternatives would be welcome.

Also, how many cores would you buy?  I was thinking 8 cores, and then have 2 or 3 runs.  Or would it be better to have a higher core count?  8 core seems easier and more mobile, but I have no experience so what do I know.

Thanks

Gaz

I've not heard of them, so no idea

but, what i've done is buy (used) snakes) and then dismantle. The last 2 I got were made with Mogami cable, and I bought it at a fraction of the cost

a bit more labor... but heh! I have the time

Hi kip4,

No hadn't heard of CPC, but yeah prices are good.  About a 3rd of the price of the stuff I found.

This should work great.

If I had a headphone amp/distributor in the live room, can I use this cable to go out of the headphone 'outs' on the distributor to trs wall sockets located throughout the live room? I'm presuming I can.

Stainless - where was your HP60 located - Live room or control room?  I was thinking of having one in the Live Room, and then using the main stereo inputs for a general mix, and then use the 'external input' channels for individual instruments or mixes.  But, the manual says the EXT IN inputs are unbalanced, so does this mean that the leads going to the EXT IN inputs need to be as short as possible?

Basically, I want the option of distributing a mix to 6 headphones (located around the room via wall sockets), but I also want the option to create individual mixes for each of the headphone outs.

Thanks,
Gaz
