I've been using the stereowide plugin in wavelab like forever but it wont work for me anymore
does anyone know of a decent free or near free stereowide plugin or an expander that will get me somewhere near the wavelab one
or has anyone got any suggestion for good plugins for mastering

Ozone is nice- if you're on a Mac peak (not sure if there's a Windows version)

but they both cost a few bucks

i've had a look at ozone and your right its in the ball park of where i want to be but its a complex plugin and might take me while to get the hang of it but i might just give it a go thanks mate
any advice or place for advce on learning ozone would be appreciated thanks

the inttial presets (and there are quite a few) are a good place to start.  When you have some time, start with a mix you're very familiar with. Strip off whatever "mastering" you did and start applying the various presets. When you find the ones you like 'more' then experiment withing themas the settings- get a tweak you like, save the preset by whatever name you'd like so you can up later.

i have saved presets for various arrangements of instruments and vocals (male, female, male harmonies, male vox, female harmonys... etc)

kip4:
thanks for that man i'm already loving the cd exciter and widening master preset
printed off the tips manual (64 pages) this will make good lunchtime reading
overall its probably more than i need.
It's about time i got a little more serious about my mastering processes anyway.
great plugin
