well... actually... tomorrow... me an me drummer will take down bass traps and run Cat 5 cable for Hear Back system, which will replace the HP60-
I like the HP60... but asI use the Matrix Mixer in the RME interface I have (which I do like the interface) I find that, because I do a lot of multiple player/live situations... I spend an inordinate amount of time re-adjusting headphone mix levels as the session goes on... and then the next session I spend time adjusting everyones mix... etc, etc
so I'm switching to the Hear Back system so each player can "ADJUST THEIR OWN DAMN MIX!!!" there I said it!

The HP60 is a GOOD headphone amp- I especially like the fact that you can mono the mix to the headphones as I have found that a stereo mix (especially if a track is hard panned) can be distracting to some folks and VERY FEW PEOPLE hear exactly the same out of both ears
The Hear back is pricey $1300 US plus the mounts for the mixers (4) and you need an available ADAT output... or 8 analog outs
I have managed to pre-sell the HP60 to a gentlemen who I've included in the conditions he come and drink beer and critique the studio...as he's highly respected ... and that's all I'm saying...I'm hoping I don't act too much a fool(maybe I'll just catch a beer or 2 before he shows up?!?)
so back to the room- THAT'S EXCITING...I wish I could have an architect involved in a room... the lack of a window will be a work around (IMHO), but doable ...I routinely use hand signals to cue people and make adjustments to the mix (and after tomorrow they can do that themselves!!!!)... but in this day and age of high tech... closed circuit video is affordable and could be an option
I am really happy to hear of your progress... as us west coast idiots are prone to saying "way cool dude!"
