Hear my Boring Vocals (Shows examples of my struggles)
« on: September 30, 2011, 10:01:46 AM »
What's up my fellow Musicians!  One of the many problems that I struggle with each day in the studio is mixing/blending my vocals.  I have a problem with being able to make them sit above the music.

Here's an example of a simple chorus part of a song I'm working on (Attached below. 25secs).  As you will notice--the vocals are boring sounding  :-[ (Not the words in exact, but the sound of it).  You can hear them, but for some reason to me, they sit behind the music and are only heard from its volume level instead of its recording and tweaking strategies.

Can anyone advise  :police: on what the vocals need to bring life to them, and what tools should I be using to help them standout more?

Thanks in advance.
