Hearing frequencies and notes
« on: July 13, 2011, 07:05:43 AM »
Hi all,

I'm wondering if there are any particular ways of training your ears to identify frequencies and notes, other than just practice?  Do you know of any good software or dvds, or excercises?

Thanks,
Gaz

Yes, there is. Try this software for a few days. It seems to be just what you are asking for.

You listen to a passage of music flat (A) and again with a slight EQ change (B.) You can switch back-and-forth between A and B. Then you try to determine what exactly is different between them.

Good stuff for training your ears.

Thanks for that.  I just tried it on my laptop and it's awesome, exactly what I wanted.
