custom mic stand

(1/1)

kip4:
here you go guys
these days my mics are getting heavier and the relexion screen is well heay too so i decided i needed a much heavier duty mic stand but i have no cash
so my bruv in law made me a reflexion screen and some brackets to go on top of my new mic stand (actually its a stand for a halogen light designed for builders working in dark places)
the reflexion screen is bolted to the top and most of the brackets are adjustable giving me as many options as possible
i know its a bit agricultural but it might stop clumsy singers almost pushing over the stand lol
i plan to have some additional brackets made so i can attach a std mic stand boom on the top for even more flexability
hope you like it
comments pls

kip4:
forgot to say my bruv in law is going to make me a cut down (10") version of the screen too
which like the other one can be removed from the stand and used for floor standing say for example i want to put it in front of a speaker cab to cut out room reflections, which btw i havent trialed yet
and it all takes to pieces and folds up neatly in a corner until needed

stainless:
cool!

what are you using over the metal screen?

kip4:
inside the reflexion screen is lined with liquid absorbant pad (mixed fibe felt kind of thing) 1 layer at back glues to a 1/3" thick tri wall corrogated carboard and on top of it 3 more layer of absorbent pad and the whole think is covered in a peice of cotton sheet, sounds a bit gay but it maches the new bench covering (trying to keep the wife on side lol )
the whole idea came about by making a clip on carboard version then i decided to see if my bruv in law could do the job and he did me proud i must say
thanks for the comment stainless
