i've just bought a g4 mac
dual core 1 gig and 1 gig of ram
and am looking for advice on compatable audio/midi interface to go with it
im thinking 4in 4 out as i have no budget as such (im skint) so cost effective is paramount
currantly using 1.8ghz ibm Pc with m audio delta 66 and m audio 24/96 (midi) m audio fast track usb
using outbourd preamps
does anyone else use this type of mac and how?
also advice on suitable daw too
Have an old version of garage band so thats sorted

I had the G5-  I'm assuming it's the PPC  and not the Intel (not sure if they even made the G4's with Intel Chips)

If it is non Intel processor it will not run Snow Leopard nor a lot of the newer softwares/plug-ins, so be aware, trying to run them will most likely crash the system (or the software) if it will even load.

The Delta 66 should work fine with your Mac. As to DAW....  anything compatible with the D66, and able to run on the OSX you're running (earlier Logic, Digital Performer, Reaper!!!)

The only reason I replaced my G5 PPC was because no further OSX support nor DAW support. I gave it to my bass player and he's happier than happy!
