pic noise
« on: August 22, 2010, 11:24:04 AM »
Beside smacking the guitarist until he plays better (like that would ever work)
What is the best way to reduce pic noise?
In the past I have tried turning down the tone on the guitar and compensating
with the amp eq.
It works some what, but what else should I try?

using a strat.
a finger wont work on big 7th chords.
Not talking about a little noise. it sound like a hammer banging a flag pole.

if the action on the Strat is set real low he/she may be hitting the pick-ups- if this is the case have them try and strum/pick at the bottom of the fret board

I've had similar problems with bass players who 's fingers hit the pick-ups

some feel it's just poor technique
