« on: June 21, 2010, 02:58:22 AM »
Hi all!
This is only a guy from Hungary. I do things, create stuffs with midi about 11 years long. I love it, but I have never had enough money for build my own home studio. So I just learned learned things, but no any progress. I have an akg mic, a week pc, a bass guitar that doesn't work and some softwares. :) I just writing that, to let u know, I'm at the origo of my home studio. :D So I'm here to learn, and get some help to find out what kind of hardwares I need to get from somewhere. There is a hope, because I'm gonna move to Lodon with my GF to get work and much money, and if it will work, I'm gonna start to build my "sanctum".   ;)

Welcome, T.O.

It is good to spend time with people who share the same interest as you. It makes you feel like a part of an extended family. I hope you feel that here and learn much.

Enjoy.

Welcome TO!

at times we may seem like the "broken toys on misfit island", but there are some knowledgable people (or at least people with strong opinions!)

Hi Stainless!

Thx, and don't worry about that I'll ask a lot of things. I just try to read everything is writtened in here, and then will come my ununswered questions. :) But I have a bad feel: there is many things jar in my brain, I want to turn more and more into reality, but I don't know when will I have the fitting budget to that. So I don't want to fall into that trap, I only ask and plan and learn and ask and plan and can't do nothing. Do you know what I mean?   :-\
No matter! I'll ask... :)

Yes, I think I do know you mean.

Prioritize your "sound" by that, I mean if (as an example) the music you hear inside seems in your mind to translate best thru "strings" make it a priority to acquire the best sounding string patches you can find. If it's percussion, focus on getting the 'real world" gear or finding a realistic sounding percussion software (and spend the time to learn all of it's nuances)- If vocals a primary focus, save up a little longer to get a better mic and pre-amp.

In short, don't cut corners and fall prey to instant gratification because something is "kinda close" and inexpensive

It may take you a little bit longer, but the ideas will still be there waiting, and having the right tools makes the task of translating from brainwaves to soundwaves much less frustrating!

..there's my philosophical rant for the the day!  ;D

THX the philosopical rant of the day!  :D U have given something good by that....  ;) I feel a driver power now from the inside, so I'm gonna sit in front of the Reason when I finished my work today, and let's make some noise!  :)
