Monitors- sideways or upright?

pro's /cons?

I have a window into the studio from the control room and turning the monitors sideways (JBL LSR4326P's) would certainly help visibility

and if they were rotated 90 degrees, horns inside or outside?

I've gone sideways AND suspended them from the ceiling

The speaker suspension looks very cool mate.  How does it sound compared to on a shelf/metre bridge?

I "think" it's a bit better... but as there's no way to A/B it could be a psychological bent tomake me feel better about it  ;D

They were on stands made from 3/4" MDF filled with sand, and open cell rubber padding on the top and bottom (weighed about 30 lbs each) so I don't think there was much sonic coupling... and now instead of a 'footprint" the only solid contact is a 5/16" eyebolt lagged into the ceiling

My decision to make the change was i wanted more rack space at my immediate fingertips, rather than in racks behind, etc, that would have to patched in with cords across the floor (specifically my reel to reel), but I have some other nice outboard gear that would see more use if it was easier to set-up/patch in

I would probably just listen and see what you think sounds best to the ear, in terms of frequency response
and stereo imaging.
