Sample mixes??!!!

(1/1)

gaz7224:
So my mum bought me a book for my birthday.  The 'Mixing Audio' book that was recommended on here.  The description said it had sample mixes included on a DVD.

I wanted it because I thought it would provide some full length songs to practice my mixing skills on.

But, no, it doesn't!  They are 5 second samples/examples of compression, reverb, etc etc.  There are dry examples, but they're only 5 seconds long, and aren't really loop-able because they fade in and stuff.

I guess I should have read the description more carefully.

The book is really good though, so all is not lost.  I'm sure I'll learn from the samples too.

Bit disappointing.

I don't think it was recommended by this site. We don't promote any books. It may have been a member from here.

Do you remember who recommended it? Maybe they could explain it better.

(BTW, I think I will have more separate tracks available for download soon.)

Hi Rawdepth,

I should have been clearer - it was Robin.bjerke in my 'Mixing Practice' topic in the 'completely stupid questions' forum.

I was just having a moan, not blaming anyone really.

It is a bit misleading though, if I'm honest.

It's cool though... It's a good book.

Great, thanks.  I can use the book with them now, which will be good and aid my learning.
