STRAIGHT BEGINNER

I GOT THE MAC, LOGIC EXPRESS, TASCAM M-30/ 8TRACK, TRYING TO PUT TOGETHER A LITTLE SOMETHING IN THE BASEMENT, FOR MUSIC, WHAT ELSE I NEED TO MAKE IT HAPPEN NAME PARTS OF EQUIPMENT AND WHATB EVER ELSE/ HAD A NICE SIMPLE DIAGRAM....
BUT NOW IM crap OUT OF LUCK AND GOTTA SEARCH THE INFO OUT

you haven't mentioned microphones (but I'm guessing you have at least one!)

in a basement- I'd suggest giving some hought to some acoustic treatment

the best path to follow it to "get it right" when you record it... trying to fix it in the mix has limitations (and the worse the acoustics are in the room, the greater the limitations)... I spent a bunch-o-cash buying gear I thought would improve my 'sound'... and while it helped a little, what improved my recording the most was getting some treatment for the room: bass traps, diffusers.... which goes beyond carpets and thich drapes/moving blankets (but they sorta help... a little)

If you're serious about recording you'll be doing yourself and your wallet a huge favor by addressing acoustic treatment of the room early on!
