I am not a user yet, but this is also a package I've been looking at too.  The Producer version has a ton of stuff.  I have been also looking at a protools set up too.  There are so many options out there for more or less the same ball park price of $500 bucks.  If I was to run either of these packages I would certainly have to upgrade my computer set up(external hard drive, more ram, maybe a dual core processor).  This recording gear stuff can become completely, obsessively, addicting!!!!  There is always something I don't have that I wish I did.  Oh well.  I guess I just try to concentrate more on the music and less on the gear.(that's what I keep telling myself).  But I love the gear!!!

lol gear junkies
i've been using sonar 6 producer for midi mostly for a couple of years and i love it
it has all the feature i need and more
i use it to paste mp3 into audio then sequance midi backing tracks using the originals as a guide.
i think the piano roll for me is the ideal interface for me and the drums tracks are great too, im using xg through a synth (yamaha cs2x) and recording the audio into cool edit pro
further mixing is done in cubase sx3
Check out my tube see what i've been up 2
