the bigger question is "are you happy with Sonar"?

I used Cakewalk many years ago, and it was Cakewalk that goy me into digital recording (I was a staunch analog/tape kinda guy)- I settled on proTools because i bought the "industry standard" spiel... and it was on sale at GC... and that's the truth

Stainless...... yes I 'm very happy with SONAR.  When I started recording digitally on PC I tried many programs including Pro Tools.  However I always went back to Cakewalk and committed to it with SONAR 6.0  I approach PC recording with the knowledge that its not so much the program but the hardware the program is running on and the quality of the signal chain going into the system.

im using cakewalk sonar 6 producer series for midi and some audio
main audio software is cubase sx 3 with  waves plug ins
cubase le and cool edit pro (mostly for format swapping) and recording midi to audio
i use wavelab for mastering
i love all of the above software except when they crash then they're worthless and not worth having.
horses for courses ie i use all the differant software to colour the sound i a way that suits the kinda sound i am after.
havent been going (alone) long but i'm learning and i love it
