Are Sonar drums good for studio?
TheOldOne:
I am thinking about gettin some drums for my studio so when drummer don't want to lug their drums over they can use mine. Are Sonars worth it or are they junk?

Drums are made out of different types and thicknesses of wood for a reason. Because it makes them sound different for different uses. Some are designed to be louder for live use. Some are designed to sustain more for studio use. Some are designed with higher pitched tuning in mind. And some are designed with low price in mind. And the list goes on...
If you are buying only one drum set for your studio then it has to be a compromise. I would probably lean more toward a studio design (usually harder wood shells) but be prepared to muffle them slightly more occasionally for rock drummers.
Oh and, to answer your question...Yes, I think SONOR drums are good.

I think I've heard that they're certainly usable, anyway. This web site has a lot of info on various woods and how drums are constructed, so you might want to give it a quick glancing over:

Actually, come to think of it, that web site has a lot of good drum-related information in general. I just recently learned the importance of having a well-tuned kit, although some of the information is a little hard to soak up on that web site. Someone recommended these videos to me:

If you look at his drum tuning videos, those are more helpful, although they're even more helpful if you've at least read over the Drum Tuning Bible stuff (even if you didn't quite grasp it all).

Yeah, but that doesn't really help him with the problem of having real drums for real drummers...
